I sympathize with the Joker to a certain extent. I think that he is ruthless, cunning, malicious and selfish. The worst of it all is that he is a cold blooded killer. Be it innocent people or his own accomplices, the Joker kills anyone in his way for his own benefits. One example of how cruel this villain can be is that after robbing a bank with several other men, he shot them so he could keep all the money for himself. However, I think that the Joker is not fully accountable for his actions as he lacks mental stability. The Joker lost everything that he cared for all at once, thus leading to his going insane. Therefore, I sympathize with the Joker.

His mental state seems to be extremely sharp. Look at his meticulous and cunning strategies.

But yes, in a sense, he deserves some sympathy. What has caused him to become such a cruel and heartless criminal? Is there any love or warmth in his life?

Remember, if we end up hating or condemning villains, what does that make us?
